The mixed-use complex is one of the few recent office projects that allowed us to pursue a broader architectural investigation.

While adapting existing buildings to accommodate multiple programmes is not a new challenge, we were less interested in functional organisation than in understanding and sustaining the identity of the place. Rather than treating the site as an isolated object, the project approached it as part of a living built environment shaped by its history, spatial relationships, and everyday life.

Instead of limiting our observations to the project boundary, we examined the site as one layer within the larger urban organism of Hanoi. Over time, a single architectural compound had gradually fragmented into smaller courtyards, alleys, and buildings, producing a dense network that continues to evolve through adaptation and occupation. This process of subdivision—from compound to lane, from lane to smaller lanes, and even within individual houses—reveals the city's remarkable capacity for transformation.
